Getting Rid Of My Car

Well I’m trying to.

I love driving it but it is costing me a bomb just to keep it legally on the road. The car isn’t even clapping out on me, it’s costing me nearly a thousand pounds a year just to insure and tax the bastard thing. When I bought the car, petrol was well below the pound and tax was far off three hundred pounds but thanks to the Labour government, I am dealing with a car that loses so much residual value daily let alone monthly, I’m unable to even think about getting a new one.

That said, I am currently trying to get a decent price for a new smaller car from the same dealer as it will save me at least a thousand pounds just in insurance and tax, probably even more in petrol.

I stand to find out Monday, hopefully I’ve paid enough off the car for it to be valuable in a part exchange.

You know, I can understand completely your reasons for wanting a cheaper car to run…But, it doesn’t seem as though you pay the earth for your car?

I pay £1500 a year in insurance, plus £120 in tax, and I spend £250 a month on fuel..

So just stay happy temporarily with the fact it doesnt cost you all your limbs to get to work and back! haha

Haha, true mate. My insurance is about £1000, it would be drastically reduced if I downgraded from a 2.7 V6 to a 1.4 or 1.6 though!

The tax on my car will be £400 for the year, not good!

Fuel isn’t so bad, the added bonus here is that I can walk to work when I move!

I may end up keeping it, it’s not the worst car to run. I just think with the current market, it would be best to save money where I can.

    I suppose that’s very true…
But you don’t really want to be go selling when everyone is at a low poijnt financially do you?
    Ah well, see what happens!
Personally, I’m looking into a 2 seat, convertable roadster!
