There were the summer blockbusters like Die Hard 4.0 and Blockbusters…I came, I saw and I watched in awe. Our American counterparts have release dates well before our own but here are a list of films I want to see either in the next two weeks or the whole of 2008..
1. I am Legend
Starring Will Smith, “I am Legend” is a film centring on “the last man on earth”. The trailer depicts Smith in a desolate New York City with only his dog for company. Problem is, is he really alone?
It smashed records in the US and with a Boxing Day release in the UK, I can see it doing the same here. Is it me or is Will Smith actually a really nice guy (judging from interviews etc)?
2. Cloverfield
This trailer was first shown in the previews for the Transformers film. Having waited until 12am to watch Transformers in an advanced screening, this wet my appetite. Produced by the same guy who produces LOST, this almost Godzilla like film looks to rock our socks off.
3. Juno
Touted as the film of the year, Juno charts the progress of a 16 year old who finds herself pregnant (how you find yourself pregnant I don’t know! anyways, carry on..) but doesn’t want to keep the child. The trailer shows her finding prospective adoptive parents and some humorous clips of how she tells her parents the news. More of an Indie film, this is one to really look out for.
4. Jumper
Jumper stars Hayden Christiansen as a man who’s genetic anomaly allows him to teleport. I can’t really say much more about this film but check the trailer below.
There are a number of other films that I look forward to seeing, I just don’t want to pack out the post!
It looks to be a good year for movies, let’s hope they live up to their trailers.
